Arlene June (Sigerfoos) Lesher, age 94, died peacefully in her sleep November 3, 2021 at Briar Cliff Nursing Home in Greenville, Texas. She was born November 19, 1926 to Wilbur and Mabel (Kurtz) Sigerfoos, in Elkhart, Indiana.
Following high school graduation, Arlene married her high school sweetheart Marlin E. Lesher. Following his return from naval service, Marlin and Arlene worked together at Lesher Woodwind Company. After Mr. Lesher’s death, she moved to Greenville, Texas to live near her daughter, Sharon, and her family. In retirement, Arlene was an active hospital volunteer at Hunt Regional Medical Center. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Arlene is survived by her son, James E. Lesher of North Carolina; son-in-law Richard Fox; grandchildren David (Brandi) Fox of Idaho, Stephen (Jennifer) Lesher of Louisiana, Tracey Marks of Texas, Mitzi (Troy) Lesher-Thomas of North Carolina; great-grandchildren MacKenzie Lesher-Thomas, Andrew Lesher-Thomas, Mary Lesher, Jessica Lesher, Alexander Lesher, and Matthew Fox.
Mrs. Lesher was preceded in death by her husband Marlin, her parents, and her daughter Sharon Fox.
A private, family-only service of remembrance will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at Peters Funeral Home in Greenville, Texas. Those who wish to remember Arlene in a special way may make a gift to Briar Cliff Nursing Home.
