Jackie Lee Jones, 87, passed December 3, 2023, in Greenville, Texas. Jackie was born on May 25, 1936, in Comanche, Texas, to Hazel Olene Lewis and Walter Deerwood Jones.
Jackie was active in prison and nursing home ministries, as well as his church. He was an Air Force Veteran, worked in the oil fields, and was a pastor in Odessa, Texas. Jackie moved to Comstock, Texas in 1978, where he resided until moving to Greenville, Texas in 2015. Jackie liked to fish and sing and loved his family dearly. He was always glad to lend a helping hand to anyone.
Jackie is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Lou Ann Jones; daughters: Olene and Billie; sons, Walter and Kenneth; Billy Jack Ford, who Jackie was like a father to him; Jimmie and Chelsea; 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Bobby Jones of Beaumont and his four children; Patricia and her husband, JB, of Spring; and Aunt Mary Lewis of Buda.
Jackie is preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Laura Kay Lyons.
