Jo Ann Morris, 84, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, of Campbell passed away on January 12, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the chapel at Coker Mathews Funeral Home with Bro. Larry Combs and Bro. Richard Moore officiating. Burial will follow the service at Shady Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from1:00 pm until service time.
Jo Ann was born on July 16, 1937, to Morris Robertson and Frieda McGowan in the Campbell community. Jo Ann married Frankie Morris on April 1, 1954, in Hugo, Oklahoma. Mrs. Morris started playing the piano at 12 years old and played the piano and organ in church for 30 years. She was passionate about her work with WMU (Woman’s Missionary Union), she held many officer positions within the organization and devoted her time to helping with this cause. She was the church secretary for 10 years and had a beauty shop in her hometown of Campbell. She loved crocheting and sewing and was a wonderful cook and made the best chicken stew and strawberry punch. She was a 44 – year cancer survivor.
Jo Ann is survived by her husband Frankie, sons Richard Morris and wife Brenda, Lynn Morris and wife Gail and Doug Morris and wife JoAnn, grandchildren Mindy Plunkett, Cheryl Scott, Andrew Morris, Kevin Morris, Matthew Morris and Holly Islam, and great-grandchildren, Tyler Scott, Sara Scott, Levi Scott, Lizzy Plunkett, Ellie Morris, Adalynn Morris, Sydney Morris and Jude Islam.
Jo Ann is preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Prenon Islam, Andrew Morris, Matthew Morris, Ben Scott, Joey Plunkett and Kevin Morris.
