Joseph Akers, Sr. went to be with his heavenly Father on November 27, 2021.
He was born to W.C. Akers and Betty Ruth Perkins on March 30, 1958 in Greenville, Texas.
Joseph was known for his love of animals (including, but not limited to cats, dogs, and horses), his love and devotion to his family, and his love and faith in his Lord and Savior. Joseph was a hard worker, but in his spare time, he tended to his plants and flowers.
Joseph is survived by his son, Joseph ‘Joe’ Akers Jr. and granddaughter, Jacie Akers. Father and stepmother, W.C. and Loretta Akers, and mother, Betty Perkins Burns. Brothers: John Akers, James Akers, Jake Akers, Jason Akers, Jerald Akers, and Marty Burns. Sister, Jeannita McCoy. Along with a host of loving relatives and friends.
Joseph was preceded in death by his sister, Jeannine Cherry, and nephew, Caleb Akers.
There will be a visitation on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. and service on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2021 starting at 1 p.m. in the Lynch Funeral Service Chapel in Greenville, Texas.
