Oscar (Ted) Perry Hill, 91, of Greenville, passed from this life to be with his Heavenly Father on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. A celebration of his life will be held Wednesday, Feb. 9, at 2pm at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville with Dr. John Kay and Rev. Jerry Speight officiating. Visitation will be from 12pm-1:30pm before the service on Wednesday.

Ted was born on August 31, 1930, in Amarillo, Texas, second of five children born to Oliver P. Hill and Lila Compton Hill. He married Margaret (Maggie) Sue Jeffrey on June 30, 1955, at Haltom City Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas.  He proudly served in the US Air Force from 1950-1954. He earned a bachelor of science degree from East Texas State University.  After his military service, he worked for General Dynamics in Fort Worth, Texas, then Kollsman Instruments in Wichita, Kansas. In 1962 Ted and Maggie relocated to Greenville, Texas, to work for Temco, the company that eventually became E-Systems. He worked at E-Systems for the following 30+ years until his retirement in 1993 in management positions, engineering, and flight navigation, served a term as Management Club President, and was recognized with many distinguished employee awards including Suggestor of the Year in 1979, which came with a trip for him and Maggie to Hawaii.  He was a Christian and worshiped as a long time member of Normandale Baptist Church in Fort Worth. He worshiped in Greenville as a long time member and deacon of Ridgecrest Baptist Church followed by Kavanaugh Methodist Church.  He joined The Golden Kiwanis soon after retirement and enjoyed serving in many positions including deliveries for the Meals-On-Wheels organization.  One service project near and dear to his heart was the Aunt Chars Playground project, for which he volunteered as a builder and also served on the leadership team that organized an army of volunteers to finish an amazing City park that children in the city of Greenville will enjoy for generations to come.

He never failed to answer the call for blood donation, which came just as often as he was eligible to give, as he had a rare blood type, and was a proud member of the 10 gallon club, for donating a record amount of blood over a lifetime.  He was a licensed pilot, and for a time co-owned a Piper Tri-Pacer with a flying buddy.  He loved taking friends and family up any chance he got and had many memorable moments with them.  One life event Ted loved recounting to friends, family, and anyone else who would listen, was when he took part in the atomic bomb testing for the military, while stationed on a tiny island in the South Pacific called Enewetak.   Most of all Ted loved spending time outdoors working on projects for the property he and Maggie lived at for more than fifty years. He was a builder of gadgets, a dreamer of crazy inventions, Always willing to lend a hand to anyone who asked.  He loved dancing with his wife, Maggie.  He was an amazing husband, father, and absolutely treasured being a grandpa.

Ted is survived by his wife Maggie, and children: Tony Hill and wife Linda, of Arlington, TX, Tracey Seidel and husband Mac, of SouthLake, TX, and Tammy Sisto and husband Vito, of Greenville; grandchildren: Joe and Jesse Francis, Perry Hill, and Eleanor and Samuel Sisto, as well as great-grandchildren: Kaley and Cade Francis, and Jude and Milo Francis; brother Dave Hill, and sister Mary McDonald, and many nieces and nephews, and many, many friends
