Patrick William Dalton went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 12, 2024. We take comfort in knowing he is reunited with his family and loved ones who have gone before him.Patrick was born on November 18, 1958 in Bonham, TX to Bama and Harous Dalton. Patrick is the younger brother to Lindy Dalton and the big brother to his little sister, Debbie Dalton. Their family eventually took up roots in Quinlan, TX where Pat would graduate from in 1977 and would later raise his own family there. In 1980, Patrick met the love of his life, Jane. Patrick would tell you it was love at first sight. The two were married in June 1980 and they spent the next 43 years between their two home states, Texas and Alabama. In those 43 years, Patrick became a dad to three children, Gery Neal, Jana, and Misty. He was a hands-on Dad who was involved in all the sports, dance recitals, and competitions- he would become “Dad” to all his children’s friends and carried that title to many well into adulthood. He then became Happy Pappy to his 12 grandchildren and great-grandchildren- his favorite title of all! Patrick loved to make others laugh, so you can imagine the joy he got with his grandchildren being their silly, Happy Pappy.Patrick was a bright light that brought many people joy. He never met a stranger and would give a person the shirt off his back if they needed it. He loved to cook and enjoyed trying out new recipes for his family. He enjoyed singing and dancing around, and always had a new song he would sing on repeat. He loved being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing with his cousin Mike Erickson, sharing stories and strong cups of black coffee. Patrick was an electrical engineer but it didn’t stop him and his Dad from coming up with funny and “different” ways of fixing broken household items. He loved to learn new things, enjoyed reading, and would be able to talk to you about anything for hours. He had the biggest heart and a kind soul.He wore many titles, all of which were important to him: Grandfather, Father, Husband, Son, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and Friend. We take comfort knowing Pat is in heaven reunited with his parents, whole and healthy with a fishing rod in his hand, scoping out the best fishing hole and then frying them up- hope Heaven enjoys catfish!Patrick was survived by his wife Jane Dalton. Children- Gery Neal Fuller (Tammy), Jana Knox (David), and Misty Mitchell (Keith); Siblings-Debbie Dalton and Lindy Dalton. He’s also survived by 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and his Alabama family all that loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his Father, Harous, and Mother, Bama. The family will be hosting an informal gathering celebrating the life of Pat at the home of his parents on  Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 2-5 pm; 1424 Deer Lane, Quinlan TX 75474- the family welcomes all who would like to come by and visit to share stories and remember the great times with Pat. There will also be a celebration of life in Alabama at a later date.
