Robert Jones, age 75, of Farmersville, Texas, has earned his angel wings on December 17, 2021, and will be reuniting with his beloved wife Dorothy.  Service will be held on December 23, 2021, at Merit Cemetery in Celeste, Texas75423.

Robert was born on August 25, 1946, in Denton, Texas, to Clarence Warner Jones and Bobbie Jean Jones, and then was raised in Lewisville, Texas where he attended school. On July 30, 1965, he married the love of his life Dorothy and made his living by being a truck driver. He loved hauling / driving a big rig. He did it for most of his life. He loved his Peterbilt and driving a little too fast. His rule of thumb was for every ten miles per hour the speed limit was set at, you could go the first number of miles per hour over without getting a ticket (i.e. If the speed limit was 60, you could run 66). He seemed to have proved the method with plenty of learning experiences, as he received numerous speeding citations throughout his career and wasn’t afraid to talk about them either. He knew the tricks of the trucking trade like flashing your lights to make the stop light change, and he was someone to always be counted on for overtime on the road.  He loved a good steak, medium-well (definitely not mooing or bleeding on the plate) and in his younger years, he was a horseman. He loved Dorothy, more than anything in the world, and always looked forward to reuniting with her. Robert enjoyed, family and most of all his grandkids.

Robert is survived by, sons Ronnie and wife Victoria of Farmersville, Robbie Jones of Farmersville, brothers Gerald Jones and wife Mary of Lewisville, Mike Jones and wife Carol of Commerce, sister Sharon Hass and husband James of Merit, Caitie Jones and husband Tyler Covington, Jacie Jones, Chandler Jones, Gracie Jones, Jayden Jones, Finley Jones, great-grandchildren Carli Caldwell and Cailah Covington.

Preceded in death by, his parents, Clarence and Bobbie Jones, beloved wife Dorothy Jones, and grandchild Jacob Warner Jones
