Billie Fae (Weatherley) Bowen, 86, of Caddo Mills passed away Monday, March 2, 2020 at her residence.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, March 5th at the Caddo Mills Church of Christ with Mr. Ray Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at the Caddo Mills I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday.
Born January 3, 1934 in Royse City, Texas, Mrs. Bowen was the daughter of Alton Riley Weatherley and Beulah Marie (Combs) Weatherley. On April 20, 1956 in Parker, Texas, she married William P. Bowen. Mrs. Bowen worked as a bank teller after graduating high school as valedictorian. She was a mother and homemaker and also worked as a bookkeeper for a number of years. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Billie will be remembered as a loving wife of almost 64 years and a dedicated mother. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren. She was a selfless person, who was always thinking and worrying about others to the very end. Now, her worrying is over as she has transcended to heaven. We know she is indeed now an angel on high.
Survivors include her husband, William P. Bowen (former superintendent of Caddo Mills public schools); son, Perry Keith Bowen and wife Dana; daughter, Pamela Bowen-Stanley; brother, Alton Ray Weatherley; sisters, Annell Bowen and Patsy Greer; grandchildren, Chase Bowen and wife Taren, Brooke Bryan and husband Kyle, and Evan Shane Stanley; and great-grandchildren Harper, Hudson and Hadlee Bowen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Beulah and Alton Weatherly.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Chase Bowen, Evan Stanley, Kyle Bryan and also, Ronny Beckham, Jason Tucker, Mark Bowen, Brady Williams, Warren Talley and Walt Borchers.
